Axel James Rockfish, born 1970, is a photographer, photo journalist and worldtraveller and an advisor in the entertainment industry. In 1983 he bought his first used Canon AE-1. Many of his archived photographs and latest productions have not been released yet, so recently galleries in Barcelona, Munich and Amsterdam as well as fellow artists have encouraged him to offer his work as fine art limited editions prints. Axel is opening a small, charming gallery in Barcelona as well as with friends in Munich and has been selected to attend international art fairs.

 

 

 

 

Señor Rockfish's themes range from creative and abstract interpretations of urban settings and architecture to remote places and its inhabitants, especially children and nature. Earlier works also include b/w nudes and abstracts. He is selecting works from Asia, Latin America and Europe as limited editions, enjoying to share it with fellow artists and art lovers. Axel is an art collector himself sometimes. Having lived and worked in Argentina, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles, since 2012 he established his home at his favourite place: Barcelona. Recently his works have been selected for the Barcelona International Photography Awards (BIPA) top 50 authors series.
